The Crossowen Road in County Tyrone was shut in both directions on Friday afternoon as emergency services responded to a serious road traffic collision.

The Police Service of Northern Ireland closed the route between Augher and Clogher at around 1pm and put diversions in place, urging motorists to avoid the area.

The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service received a 999 call at 12:39pm. It dispatched four emergency ambulances, an ambulance officer, a rapid response paramedic, and the Charity Air Ambulance with its Helicopter Emergency Medical Service team.

Three people received treatment at the scene before being taken by road ambulance to Craigavon Area Hospital. Their conditions have not been disclosed.

The number of vehicles involved and the circumstances of the crash remain unclear.
