Summer Events Programme Launched at Armagh Observatory and Planetarium
Armagh Observatory and Planetarium has released its programme of events for July and August.
Paint and Pop sessions for children run on July 18 and 19, and again on August 8 and 9. Two sessions are available each day, at 11:30am and 2:15pm. The supervised sessions last about 90 minutes and are recommended for children aged six and over. Participants receive paint materials and a fizzy drink, while accompanying adults are provided with tea or coffee.
From July 21 to 26, Jurassic Ark Encounters offers an educational session on reptiles. Visitors can see animals including snakes, lizards and tortoises. No further details on the format were provided.
Roar Roar Dinosaur takes place from July 28 to August 2. The interactive dinosaur experience includes live volcanic science experiments, a live egg hatching display, and opportunities to pet and feed baby dinosaurs. A Tyrannosaurus rex named Tyson is available for photographs. Children can also make a clay fossil to take home.
The venue has an exhibition area on astronomy, a cafe, a gift shop and Astropark Trails with views of Armagh. A 20 per cent discount is offered when a Dome show is purchased with a Paint and Pop ticket.
Booking information is available on the Armagh Observatory and Planetarium website.
