An 18-year-old man from Dungannon has been charged with multiple sexual offences, including voyeurism and possession of indecent images of a child.

John Stokes, of Sycamore Heights, appeared before Dungannon Magistrates Court to face three separate charges spanning a two-year period.

The first alleged offence dates to March 23, 2023, when Stokes is accused of possessing an extreme pornographic image. He is further charged that on April 16, 2024, he took and possessed an indecent image of a child.

The most recent charge relates to a period between January 1 and February 20, 2025, during which Stokes is alleged to have observed a person carrying out a private act, knowing they did not consent, for the purpose of his own sexual gratification.

During the hearing, Stokes spoke only to confirm his identity and that he understood the charges. A police officer apprised of the facts confirmed the charges could be connected, and a prosecutor noted the case is being handled by a senior departmental officer due to the nature of the allegations.

District Judge Francis Rafferty granted continuing bail and ordered Stokes to return to court on July 29.
