Following the death of Ciara Carron on 28 June, her funeral mass took place at St Joseph’s Church in Ederney.

She is survived by her daughter Ava Mae, her father Donal (Daniel), her sister Aisling (Luan) and her grandmother Mary.

Fr Frank McManus led the service. He described her love for her family and her lively character, recalling an occasion when she threw water over a fellow priest, a memory he said still brought a smile.

Her sister Aisling read a prayer that Ciara had written herself. It asked mourners not to weep and assured them she would remain in their hearts. The poem concluded with an image of reunion, asking loved ones to live lives that justify the wait.

Her affection for poetry, travel and music was also remembered during the mass.
