Driver Detected at 98mph on Motorway Without Licence or Insurance
A driver has been caught travelling at 98mph on the motorway between Lurgan and Moira while committing a range of motoring offences, police have confirmed.
Road Policing Officers stopped the vehicle in the last hour and found the driver was not wearing a seatbelt. Checks revealed he was driving on a provisional licence, with no L plates displayed and no qualified accompanying driver. The car was also uninsured.
The driver will now face court proceedings. The vehicle owner, a friend who had permitted him to drive, will also be prosecuted for allowing the car to be used without insurance.
A police spokesperson said such behaviour endangers all road users and that robust enforcement action will continue.
