Antrim Man Faces Court for 10th Driving Without Insurance Offence
Darren McBride, 33, of no fixed abode in Belfast, faces charges for driving without insurance for a 10th time. The offence occurred on August 17, 2023, while he drove an Audi A4 on the M22 motorway near Antrim town.
Antrim Magistrates Court, sitting in Ballymena, heard the case on Tuesday. Deputy District Judge Sean O'Hare noted the defendant's record includes eight prior convictions for the same offence. Court records also show another conviction in Belfast last September.
A defence barrister described the defendant's record as an aggravating feature. The case adjourned to June 2 for a pre-sentence report.
