Fr Frank McManus Marks 40 Years of Priesthood
The Parish of Culmaine has congratulated Fr Frank McManus on the 40th anniversary of his ordination to the priesthood.
Fr McManus was ordained on June 15, 1986 by Bishop Joseph Duffy in St Mary’s Church, Teemore. The ceremony was the first ordination held in the church.
After ordination, he served as a curate in Monaghan Town before moving to Carrickroe. He took a sabbatical in 2002-2003, spending time in Ghana.
In 2003 he was appointed to the Parish of Magh Ene in Bundoran, based in Ballyshannon, where he served for 11 years. He became involved in parish life, schools and youth work.
Fr McManus has been Parish Priest of Culmaine in Ederney since September 2014. During his ministry he has supported sacramental preparation, altar servers and the John Paul II Award. He also encouraged lay funeral ministers.
He has been active in community development, environmental projects and the GAA.
A Parish of Culmaine statement said the anniversary represents 40 years of celebrating the Eucharist, baptisms, marriages, comforting the bereaved and guiding young people.
