A fundraising group covering Armagh and Benburb has asked for the return of a world globe that was sold by mistake during a recent event at Benburb Priory.

The Armagh and Benburb Mary's Meals Support Group described the item as a treasured family possession that was kept at the centre to symbolise the reach of the charity's work across the globe.

The group stated that the globe was sold in error some weeks ago and the purchaser is being sought so that a full refund can be given upon its return.

Mary's Meals is an international charity that provides daily meals to children living in some of the world's poorest communities, with the aim of encouraging school attendance and improving educational outcomes.

The support group's appeal emphasised the sentimental value of the globe, which they said had been a visual reminder of the many countries where the charity operates.

Benburb Priory, a historic site in County Tyrone, is a venue used by various community and charitable organisations.

Anyone who may have acquired the globe is asked to return it to Benburb Priory, where a refund will be arranged.
