Tyrone volunteers promote Mary’s Meals charity
Margaret Hughes of County Tyrone has begun volunteering weekly for the Mary’s Meals charity at the information centre in Benburb Priory.
She began after the death of her husband Damien and was invited by local coordinator Pauline.
Her granddaughter Bobbi, aged 11, now joins her at the centre and also volunteers.
The pair are using Volunteers’ Week to encourage others in Tyrone to join the group.
Mary’s Meals supplies daily school meals to children in 16 countries.
Local volunteers cook the meals at the schools that receive them.
Margaret and Bobbi invite people to sign up via the charity website for roles including administration, events, and public speaking.
