Mount Lourdes Grammar Students Raise Over £2000 for Women's Aid Fermanagh
Students Aisling, Emma, Eimear, Ellie, Brijit and Caoilfhionn from Mount Lourdes Grammar School raised £2020.53 for Women's Aid Fermanagh and Omagh. The group organised the campaign as part of their Leadership Project.
Events included a raffle, bake sale and quiz. Local businesses donated ten raffle prizes, including items from Smyth Transport, Boilers & Stoves, Roslea Podiatry Clinic, Erne Pharmacy, Temple Beauty, Timoney Windows and Nature’s Choice.
Prizes consisted of a make-up set, pharmacy hamper, Alexa Echo Dot, afternoon tea voucher and tanning hamper. Year 9 students sold raffle tickets before Christmas, raising more than £500. Tickets also sold to family, friends and school supporters.
A bake sale offered cupcakes, cookies and traybakes during break time and generated more than £300. Last-minute raffle tickets sold on the day. The raffle draw followed a quiz for a Year 9 class.
The funds will assist Women’s Aid in delivering services to women and children affected by domestic abuse in Fermanagh and Omagh.
