Police Investigate Arson Attack at Occupied Bangor Home
Police are treating a house fire in Bangor as arson with intent to endanger life after the occupant was asleep inside when the blaze started.
The fire was reported in the Balloo Walk area shortly after midnight on Tuesday, 23 June. Officers from the Police Service of Northern Ireland attended alongside Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service crews, who extinguished the flames.
Damage was concentrated on the front door and two front windows of the property. The resident was home at the time and had been sleeping.
Detective Sergeant Gray said enquiries were underway to establish a motive and identify those responsible. No arrests have been reported.
Investigators are asking anyone who was in the area around 12.21am and noticed suspicious activity to come forward. They also want to hear from residents or motorists who may have CCTV, dash-cam or other footage from Balloo Walk at that time.
