A 33-year-old man has been charged with multiple offences following a burglary in Banbridge.

The break-in occurred on Tuesday, 16 June, at a property on the Dublin Road.

Officers arrested the man in the Oak Grange area of Warrenpoint. He now faces seven charges.

The charges include aggravated vehicle taking causing damage to the vehicle, dangerous driving, two counts of assault on police, resisting police, burglary with intent to steal, driving with excess alcohol in breath, and using a motor vehicle without insurance.

He is due to appear before Newry Magistrates' Court today, Wednesday, 17 June.

As is standard procedure, the Public Prosecution Service will review all charges.
