Public Consultations on £100m Templemore Sports Complex Redevelopment Announced
People in Derry are being asked to attend two public information sessions on a proposed £100 million redevelopment of the Templemore Sports Complex.
The first event takes place at the Buncrana Road facility on June 30, from 10am to noon and 4pm to 7pm. A second session follows at the Foyle Arena on July 2, at the same times. Members of the design team will be present at both events.
A public notice states that the proposal involves demolishing the existing Templemore Leisure Centre and building a new centre. The planned facilities include a 50-metre pool, a leisure pool, sports halls, a fitness suite, and other leisure activities. Outdoor works would provide GAA and soccer pitches, a running track, parking, landscaping, and related site improvements.
These are pre-application consultations, meaning no planning application has yet been submitted. A digital public consultation will run from June 29 to August 10.
