Government departments and agencies have released details of assistance for people impacted by the recent public disorder in Northern Ireland.

The Housing Executive is offering help to anyone who feels unsafe in their home or has been threatened or attacked. Out-of-hours services can be accessed using the same contact numbers.

Victims of hate crime, defined as offences motivated by race, religion, sexual orientation, political opinion, gender identity or disability, are urged to contact the Police Service of Northern Ireland. Interpreters are available around the clock for non-English speakers. The PSNI has also published advice on personal and home protection.

Under the Hate Incident Practical Action Scheme, eligible individuals can receive practical support. Details are available online.

Financial assistance is available through several channels. The Make the Call service can help people claim benefits and access other entitlements. The Finance Support Service provides advice for those in financial crisis, including help with short-term living costs or household items. In extreme situations, Discretionary Support may offer an interest-free loan or a grant that does not require repayment.

Public examinations will proceed as scheduled. Students with concerns are advised to consult their school or college. Schools have been asked to remain open for the full day where possible, particularly when pupils have short commutes, though individual institutions may make changes based on police advice or local conditions.

Updates on bus and rail services are available from Translink, while TrafficwatchNI provides information on road closures and traffic disruption.
