Fermanagh sanctuary appeals for foster home to save cat’s eyesight
An animal sanctuary near Ballinamallard has issued an urgent plea for a temporary foster home to save the eyesight of a young cat.
Bright Eyes Animal Sanctuary said Dexter, a two-year-old cat, is suffering from severe eye and ear infections that demand intensive daily care. The sanctuary stated it lacks the time and resources to provide the treatment Dexter needs on a long-term basis.
Without eye ointment applied four to five times daily and daily ear cleaning, the rescue fears Dexter could lose both eyes. Staff describe the cat as gentle and affectionate despite his health challenges.
The sanctuary is urging anyone able to offer a quiet foster home to contact them directly as soon as possible. A representative emphasised that the team wants to give Dexter every opportunity to recover, warning that his sight is at risk without sustained treatment.
