Belfast driver fined after crash caused by distraction with baby in back seat
A 26-year-old driver has been given penalty points and a fine after a two-vehicle crash on the Moira Road that she attributed to being distracted by her baby.
The collision occurred around 1pm on Sunday 28 September last year at Nutts' Corner.
Elizabeth Montgomery, of Stracam Corner in Belfast, admitted a charge of driving without due care and attention.
She was not present at Antrim Magistrates' Court, sitting in Ballymena, on Tuesday, but a guilty plea was entered on her behalf by her defence barrister.
The barrister told the court that Montgomery had been distracted by her baby, who was in the back seat at the time of the crash.
District Judge imposed six penalty points and a £250 fine.
