PSNI investigating two displays in Newtownabbey and Moygashel as hate incidents
Police are investigating two displays reported in County Antrim and County Tyrone.
Officers received a report on 30 May concerning a mural on a property in the Tulleevin Walk area of Newtownabbey.
The mural depicts armed men holding green flags beside a burning church and includes the text "Islam is heathen, Islam is Satanic".
The incident is being treated as a hate incident with potential criminal damage offences.
A separate report was received on 29 May about a banner placed in the Moygashel area.
The banner shows children playing on one side and men wearing turbans prevented from entering by a barrier and a sign reading "Not wanted, not welcome, not here".
Neighbourhood Inspector Robert Jeffers said the banner is also being treated as a hate incident.
Police enquiries are continuing in both cases and officers are engaging with community representatives.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 using reference 724 30/05/26 for the mural or 891 29/05/26 for the banner.
