PSNI releases images of two males sought over Newtownabbey disorder
Police have released images of two males they want to speak to in connection with serious public disorder in the Newtownabbey area on Tuesday, June 9, 2026.
The disorder followed a knife attack in North Belfast the previous day, Monday, June 8, which police are also investigating.
The PSNI issued the images as part of an appeal for witnesses and anyone who can help identify the individuals.
One image shows a man wearing a short-sleeved hooded puffer jacket, a hat, and black jogging bottoms. The other image shows a younger male in a black jacket, blue trousers, and carrying a black backpack.
A police statement said that officers would like to speak with the people in the images. They urged the individuals to come forward to police immediately.
Anyone who can assist in identifying the persons is asked to contact police. The PSNI is also asking for any photos or footage, including CCTV, mobile phone recordings, or dashcam video, to be submitted.
Information can be passed via the non-emergency reporting form on the PSNI website, by calling 101, or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or online at crimestoppers-uk.org.
