A Derry family will take part in the Foyle Hospice Female Walk in 2026 under the name Aisling's March.

Breige McLaughlin will lead the group in memory of her daughter Aisling, who died after receiving care at the hospice.

Aisling attended the 2025 event using a mobility scooter and finished the walk with family and friends.

The family has supported the hospice since 1999, when Breige's sister-in-law received care there.

Aisling spent her final weeks as a patient at the hospice before the 2025 walk.

The 2026 group will wear t-shirts bearing Aisling's image and raise funds for the charity's inpatient unit, day therapy, community nursing and bereavement services.

Foyle Hospice operates nine inpatient beds and provides services costing around £4.1 million per year.
