Pupils at St Patrick’s Primary School in Armagh have joined the Adopt a Street scheme run by Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council.

The pupils will carry out regular litter collection along sections of the Loughgall Road and St Brigid’s Hill.

The scheme supplies equipment and support to schools, residents and businesses that commit to keeping a chosen area free of litter.

A council spokesperson welcomed the school’s participation and said the pupils’ work contributes to a cleaner local environment.

The council stated that wider involvement by residents can help reduce litter across the borough.
