Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Council Opens Public Vote on Community Funding
Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council has launched public voting for its Tak£500+ Participatory Budget Fund. The initiative received 169 applications from community groups across the borough. Each selected group can receive up to £1,000 to implement local improvement projects.
The fund is in its fifth year. Community groups submitted ideas for activities, initiatives and projects to connect residents. The council organises the process through its Community Planning Partnership.
Public voting occurs at three market stall events. Applicants showcase their proposals at these gatherings. Residents attend to view ideas and cast votes for preferred projects.
The events include family activities, spot prizes and refreshments. Local people decide allocation of the public funds to meet area needs.
