A Ballymena man appeared at the town's Magistrates Court on Thursday charged with riotous assembly.

Corey McDowell, 28, of Drumtara, works as a refuse collector. The court granted him legal aid.

A prosecutor said there was a case to answer. The defence offered no submissions.

McDowell was granted continuing bail of £500.

The case was transferred to Antrim Crown Court for arraignment on June 24.
