Comber Rec have appointed Stephen Gourley as first-team manager.

Gourley previously left Dundela in October after 23 years at the club in playing and management roles.

The club had been without a manager since Gareth McKeown and Mark Picking departed in March.

During their time at Comber, McKeown and Picking led the team to promotion to the NAFL Premier Division and secured the club's first top-division title along with two cup wins.

Gourley will be supported by coaches Laurence Fyfe, Glenn Halliday and Garth Scates.

He stated the aim is to return the club to the top of the league and to compete in the Steel & Sons Cup.

Chairman Gary McKibbin welcomed the new management team and said the appointment should take the club forward.
