Abbey Villa Football Club has started the search for a new first team manager after parting ways with Brian Hylands.

The Millisle-based club, which competes in the Northern Amateur Football League, announced the decision this week. A committee statement said the move was made after careful consideration and acknowledged Hylands’ 12 years of service as a player, coach and manager at Adams Park. He was thanked for his contributions and told he would always be welcome.

Hylands, a former defender for Bangor and Dundela, finished his playing career at Abbey Villa. He later served as assistant to Scott Collins, who led the club to the NAFL Division 1A title in 2022. When Collins stepped down in February 2025 due to family and work commitments, Hylands took charge. In his first full season as manager, the team finished sixth, 26 points behind champions Derriaghy CC.

With pre-season approaching, the club has invited expressions of interest for the vacant post ahead of the 2026/27 NAFL Premier Section campaign. Interested parties have been asked to make contact through the club’s email address.
