Regulator Keeps Gas Capacity Multipliers Unchanged
The Utility Regulator has decided to keep existing seasonal multiplier factors for gas transmission tariffs in place for another year.
The factors will apply from 1 October 2026 to non-annual capacity products such as monthly or daily bookings.
The multipliers increase or decrease the tariff for shorter-term capacity relative to the annual rate.
They were introduced in 2015 to reflect seasonal gas flow patterns and encourage greater summer use of the network.
The annual consultation on the factors opened on 30 March 2026 under the requirements of EU Regulation 2017/460 as amended after EU Exit.
Four responses were received. All supported retaining the current factors and continuing alignment with arrangements in the Republic of Ireland.
The Regulator will work with the Commission for Regulation of Utilities on a future review of the factors.
