BALLYMENA: Alexander Johnston (31), of Beachlands, Carnlough, appeared at Ballymena Magistrates' Court charged with possessing a knife and knuckleduster, resisting a police officer, and failing to provide a breath specimen on May 4 this year. The case was adjourned to June 4.

BALLYMENA: A 41-year-old man, Chinaka Innocent Mokwugwo of Tower Way, Antrim, appeared at Antrim Magistrates' Court sitting in Ballymena charged with a single count of sexual assault. He was released on bail and the case adjourned to June 23 after the defendant was warned by District Judge Nigel Broderick that the dock is not a platform for speeches.

BELFAST: A murder case against a man accused of killing Amy Doherty has been adjourned for four weeks.

PORTADOWN AREA: A motorist was detected travelling at 113mph in a 70mph zone on the M1 motorway near Portadown on July 21 last year while driving a Kia Sportage. His defence lawyer offered no excuse beyond a desire to get home.
