Detectives from the PSNI Organised Crime Branch are investigating sexual exploitation linked to escort advertising in Fermanagh and South Tyrone.

The advertisements involve up to 30 women per day across the region, with numbers rising to over 50 when Donegal, Monaghan and Cavan are included.

Many of those advertised are foreign nationals, prompting concerns about trafficking by organised crime groups.

Detective Inspector Rachel Miskelly stated that officers are working to identify and safeguard victims and to gather evidence against those profiting from exploitation.

She noted that sexual exploitation is often unseen and that some victims may not recognise themselves as such due to grooming or coercion.

Miskelly said the force will continue to act on evidence and urged anyone with information to contact police or the Modern Slavery Helpline.

She added that policing alone cannot resolve the issue and called for public cooperation.
