Escort advertising raises trafficking concerns in Fermanagh and South Tyrone
Up to 30 women are advertised daily on escort websites operating in Fermanagh and South Tyrone.
The number of advertisements rises further in the wider border region, with one site listing 26 women available in Donegal and six in Monaghan.
Most of the women listed are foreign nationals.
Sites including Escort-Ireland, Adult Work, Locanto and Viva-Street carry the listings.
Some advertisements state immediate availability while others list specific booking times.
Legislation passed more than ten years ago made it a criminal offence to pay for sex, though selling sexual services is not illegal.
Running a brothel or controlling prostitution remains a criminal offence.
UUP Deputy Leader Diana Armstrong has repeated calls for urgent attention to the issue.
She said the figures show the problem exists locally and raises serious questions about trafficking and exploitation.
Armstrong stated she will contact the PSNI and Home Office directly to ask what action is being taken and what protections exist for the women involved.
