A man appeared at Derry Magistrates' Court for a preliminary enquiry on Wednesday.

He faces 43 charges covering alleged incidents between April 1982 and August 2018.

The charges include 18 counts of sexual touching of a child under 13, eight counts of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, and 10 counts of indecent assault.

At least three alleged victims are involved.

The court found a case to answer.

The man declined to call witnesses or make a statement.

He was returned for trial at Derry Crown Court on July 1 and released on bail.

A separate case involving a different defendant was listed at the same court for a January incident at Thornhill College.
