Brian McClean, 36, of Waterloo Place in Derry, appeared before a court charged with non-fatal strangulation of a woman on March 23.

Police linked him to the charge. He also faces two counts of criminal damage, making threats to kill, assaulting a woman, and conducting a course of domestic abuse, all on dates in March.

The court raised no objection to bail. McClean received bail on condition of no contact with the alleged victim.

He was released on his own bail.
