Police are investigating an arson attack on a flat in the Kilgreel Road area of Antrim.

The incident occurred on Tuesday evening, 26 May, with a report received at approximately 7.05pm.

Occupants extinguished the fire before officers and Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service crews arrived.

Two people were inside the property during the attack and sustained no injuries.

The fire caused scorch marks around the letterbox.

Detectives are treating the incident as deliberate ignition and arson with intent to endanger life.

Enquiries remain ongoing. Officers have appealed for witnesses and anyone with relevant CCTV, doorbell or other footage to contact police on 101, quoting reference 1701 of 26/05/26.
