North West Regional College will hold an information event on dental nursing careers at its Strabane campus on 9 June.

The event runs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will present the Level 3 Apprenticeship in Dental Nursing, available on a part-time or full-time basis, along with two new courses: Fluoride Varnish Application and the Level 4 Certificate in Orthodontic Dental Nursing.

Courses are offered at the college's campuses in Strabane and Limavady.

Michaela Doherty, Lecturer in Dental Nursing at NWRC, said the event is aimed at school leavers, adults considering a career change, and current dental nurses seeking additional qualifications.

Attendees will be able to speak with current and former students, tour the clinical dental suite, and receive guidance on course content and career progression.

Dr Meabh Owens from Ebrington Dental will attend and discuss career options in dentistry with prospective students.

Dr Owens noted that several nurses at the practice completed the apprenticeship programme at NWRC and now contribute to patient care at the surgery.
