The Mayor of Derry and Strabane has opened nominations for a Reuse and Repair Champion to feature in a public mural.

The mural will be painted on 3 June by graffiti artist collective Peaball using paint collected from local recycling centres.

Six members of the public will join the artists to complete the work.

Nominations are open through an online form. The project is run by the Northern Ireland Resources Network in partnership with Repair and Share Foyle.

Residents are asked to name people whose activities support repair and reuse in the district.

Rescued paint remains available for purchase at two pounds per litre.
