The Met Office has forecast mainly dry and bright weather for Northern Ireland over the bank holiday weekend.

Saturday is expected to begin cloudy before bright or sunny intervals develop. Temperatures are forecast to reach a maximum of 20C, with conditions remaining dry into the evening.

Cloud will thicken overnight with patchy rain possible from the west by Sunday morning. Sunday itself will start cloudy with some light rain before turning dry with long spells of sunshine and a maximum temperature of 22C.

Fine and dry conditions are expected to continue into the start of the following week, with long sunny spells and warm temperatures.

The UK Health Security Agency has issued an amber heat-health alert for parts of England until 5pm on Wednesday, citing increased health risks for people over 65 and those with respiratory or cardiovascular conditions.
