Lurgan Woman Granted Bail Over Stabbing Charge
A 26-year-old woman appeared via video link at Craigavon Magistrates Court on Friday facing a charge of attempted murder.
Karla Hanratty, of Derry Street in Lurgan, is accused of stabbing a man in the back at a property in the town on February 21.
Police told the court officers found the injured man slumped on stairs with wounds to his back and arm.
A black-handled knife with blood on it was recovered from a bedroom at the address.
Hanratty told police she had stabbed the man but denied intending to cause serious harm.
She also denied making prior comments about stabbing the man, stating she had been intoxicated during the incident.
The court heard police objections to bail based on previous bail breaches and risk of witness interference.
Hanratty's barrister noted she had been in custody for three months.
District Judge Michael Ranaghan granted bail of £300 with conditions including electronic tagging, a ban from Lurgan, no contact with the injured party or witnesses, and a prohibition on alcohol.
The case was adjourned until June 5.
