Courts: Dog owner banned for 20 years after three attacks as Belfast woman returned for trial over wounding charge
BELFAST: A 38-year-old woman, Sinead Evelyn Gough, has been returned for trial at Belfast Crown Court on charges of wounding a man with intent to inflict grievous bodily harm, possessing a glass bottle with intent to wound, causing criminal damage to his letterbox, and possession of a class C drug. She was released on bail of £400 with a condition of no contact with the complainant.
LAGANSIDE: A Newtownabbey man, Gareth Gault, was sentenced after pleading guilty to charges relating to three separate attacks by his unlicensed French Bulldog on three women between October 2024 and April 2025, in some cases causing severe facial injuries. He received 18 months probation, 80 hours community service, a £100 fine, £3,000 compensation to victims, £2,250 in legal costs, £750 in kennelling costs, a destruction order for the dog, and a 20-year ban from keeping dogs.
