Two hotels in Fermanagh have issued warnings about online advertisements claiming wedding fayres at their venues. The Killyhevlin Hotel and Mahon's Hotel in Irvinestown stated no such events are scheduled.

Social media posts on Facebook pages promoted wedding fayres for coming months at these locations. The hotels confirmed nothing is booked and urged people not to pay for tickets or share details.

A spokesperson for the Killyhevlin Hotel reported the false May event claim to platform moderators. Joe Mahon of Mahon's Hotel attempted contact with the advertisers without success and also reported it to police.

The posts have been removed from the pages. Police noted awareness of similar fake event ads at local hotels.

PSNI enquiries continue into the matter. Officers advised checking directly with venues before paying for third-party events or providing personal information.
