Temperatures in Derry are forecast to reach 19C on Thursday and 20C from Saturday onward.

Light winds are expected to accompany the rise, removing any chill factor.

The Met Office forecast states that Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday will be warm and dry for most.

High pressure is expected to remain in place through the following week, bringing fine weather and temperatures above normal.

Met Éireann has indicated that parts of Ireland could reach the mid-twenties at times next week.

Some showers or spells of rain remain possible alongside the sunshine.
