Healthy Kids programme expands to more than 30 schools in Antrim and Newtownabbey
Councillor Leah Kirkpatrick, Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, visited Creavery Primary School this week.
Children from Creavery Primary School and Creggan Primary School took part in a Healthy Kids session.
Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council stated that the programme has now been delivered in more than 30 primary schools.
The sessions target P6 and P7 pupils and combine physical activity with lessons on healthy eating and emotional wellbeing.
Council coaches will offer the programme again from September.
Schools across the borough can submit an expression of interest by emailing more@antrimandnewtownabbey.gov.uk.
The Healthy Kids programme is supported through PEACEPLUS, managed by the Special EU Programmes Body.
