A passenger was rescued from a longboat that ran aground on Lough Erne on Friday afternoon.

Enniskillen RNLI launched its inshore lifeboat after Belfast Coastguard requested assistance.

The vessel was located in the Rossigh area where volunteers found a passenger on board.

Crews determined that a previously damaged marker, indicated by a red buoy, had caused confusion over the bay entrance.

The longboat was left in position for safety reasons and the passenger was taken to a nearby jetty.

The anchor was deployed for stability and the location reported to Belfast Coastguard.

Crews remained with the passenger and helped arrange for the longboat to be refloated.
