A 33-year-old woman appeared at Belfast Crown Court and pleaded not guilty to murdering her eight-week-old son. The charge relates to an incident on July 27, 2021. She confirmed her identity to the court clerk before entering her plea.

The woman also denied a charge of attempting to murder her toddler daughter on the same date. Madam Justice McBride presided over the hearing. No trial date was scheduled.

Madam Justice McBride stated she would review the case on June 8. The defendant was remanded in custody following the pleas.
