Police in Newtownabbey are treating two incidents of criminal damage as racially motivated hate crimes.

Officers responded to reports in the Rathcoole estate on Wednesday morning. Graffiti reading 'Evict locals at your own risk' appeared on a business in the Diamond area around 10am.

Shortly after, windows were smashed and additional graffiti sprayed on a house in Ardmillan Drive.

The PSNI confirmed the events took place on May 13. Enquiries into both cases continue.

Police have requested any information, CCTV, doorbell or other footage. Contact officers on 101 quoting reference 418 of 13/05/26.
