Breast Mates Newry launched its first bookcase fundraising campaign at Newry Bus Station. The group provides support and fundraising for local people affected by cancer. It promotes awareness and early detection in the community.

Translink staff Bronagh and Ruairi assisted with the event at the station. Infrastructure Minister Liz Kimmins attended the launch. Local councillor Valerie Harte and MP Daire Hughes also took part.

A Breast Mates Newry spokesperson expressed gratitude to attendees. The group stated that such events raise awareness and encourage conversation about cancer. They remind people facing cancer that they have community support.
