A six-mile walking event along the Newry towpath will take place on Sunday, April 26, starting at noon from the Basin Walk car park outside Cue Club in Newry.

The route heads to Steenson’s Bridge and returns to the start. Walkers receive refreshments at the halfway point. Free parking is available at the Basin Walk car park.

Deborah, an event organiser, stated the walk has raised over £359,000 for Evora Hospice Care so far. She invited participants from towns in the Southern Trust area and expressed hope for another successful year.

Registration is free but pre-registration is required online via the hospice events calendar or by calling the fundraising office at 028 3026 7711. Organisers ask each participant to secure at least £35 in sponsorship, or £1 per year of the event.
