FitMinds Coach Plans Inclusive Summer Camps for 1,000 Children Across Northern Ireland
FitMinds Coach will run one-day summer camps for more than 1,000 children aged three to six across Northern Ireland. The sessions will take place at 20 locations during July and August.
The camps target children of all abilities, including those with additional needs. Organisers aim to support participation in sport and play activities. Locations include Omagh, Antrim, Dungannon, Magherafelt, Cookstown, Armagh, and Toomebridge.
This marks the third year of the programme. Ronan Conlon, founder of FitMinds Coach, started the initiative based on his family's experiences with additional needs. He stated that every child deserves chances to play and learn regardless of ability.
Fibrus, a full fibre broadband provider, sponsors the expansion. Linda McMillan, Chief People Officer at Fibrus, said the sponsorship aligns with their investment in children's sport and community connections.
Camps follow principles of engagement, inclusion, and enjoyment. This year's space theme will promote curiosity and creativity through structured play. Each participant will receive a camp jersey.
