Sport NI has opened applications for the third phase of its Creating Opportunities programme.

The initiative provides match funding of up to £5,000 for sports clubs, charities, voluntary organisations and parent teacher associations that run their own crowdfunding campaigns.

The programme is funded by the National Lottery and aims to increase participation in sport and physical activity.

Successful applicants must complete their crowdfunding campaigns and deliver activities by 31 March 2027.

In the previous round, 85 projects across 15 sports received over £375,000 in National Lottery funding, with an additional £413,000 raised through crowdfunding.

Examples of previously supported projects include a youth development programme at Belfast Superkings Cricket Club, a female engagement initiative at Leander Swimming Club, and programmes at Queen's University to introduce students to GAA and hockey.

Organisations can apply through the Sport NI website.
