Lisburn Man Convicted of Drug Possession and Assault at Antrim Hospital
James Kane from a hostel in Flush Park Lisburn faces an arrest warrant after conviction for assault and drug possession at Antrim Area Hospital.
Police responded to reports of males acting suspiciously in the emergency department on Sunday May 25 2025. Security staff observed Kane handing items to another male who held cash.
Officers found Kane with 60 pregabalin tablets and ten alprazolam tablets when they moved to search him. Kane had entered a bathroom to flush the drugs down a toilet.
A security guard followed Kane into the bathroom. Kane slammed the door hard on the guard's arm as police approached.
Antrim Magistrates Court in Ballymena heard the case on Tuesday. Kane pleaded guilty to possession of the drugs but did not attend.
The court convicted him of assault and issued an arrest warrant.
