Lisburn Security Alert Concludes After Hoax Device Examined
Police in Lisburn responded to a report of a suspected explosive device at a residential property on Hillview Avenue around 6.50pm on Wednesday, May 6.
Ammunition Technical Officers examined the item and carried out a controlled explosion.
The device was determined to be an elaborate hoax.
Around 100 residents were evacuated from their homes, with local facilities made available to them.
Local policing Inspector Roberts confirmed cordons have been lifted and evacuated residents may return home.
Inspector Roberts expressed thanks to residents for their patience and cooperation during the public safety operation.
