Noel Loughran of Dungannon, Tyrone, died at his home on April 27. A funeral notice confirmed his passing occurred peacefully.

In 2002, Loughran and his wife Rhonda became parents to quintuplets Caitlin, Alanna, Aaron, Conan and Aine. The five babies, three girls and two boys, were born at Royal Maternity Hospital in Belfast. Each weighed around 2lbs at birth. The boys and two girls were identical twins.

Loughran stated at the time that scans had detected four babies, expected as two sets of identical twins. The fifth baby arrived unexpectedly four minutes after the first. Hospital staff prepared beds for four newborns.

His family includes wife Rhonda and the five children. The funeral notice listed him as son of the late Packie and Kathleen Loughran, brother of Ursula, Gabriel and the late Anne.
