Conor McAneney, a former Tyrone GAA Under-20 player from Glenelly in Tyrone, had felony charges dropped after his arrest in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on St Patrick's Day. The 20-year-old college sophomore plays as a kicker for Florida State University.

Police arrested him following a trespassing incident at a bar. Officers reported that he became uncooperative during detention attempts. Initial charges included battery on a police officer, resisting arrest, and trespassing.

Court documents now list two misdemeanour charges against him: resisting or obstructing an officer without violence and disorderly intoxication. McAneney pleaded not guilty. His next court hearing is set for June 16.

At the time of arrest, Florida State University suspended him indefinitely from team activities. A university athletics spokesperson confirmed his reinstatement to the 2026 team roster.
